Stay Flu-Free This Festive Season!

HELLO, DEAREST JEAY FAMILY!

How is the holiday coming along?

A few days ago, I went to get a few things from the market with my sister and we stopped at some man’s shop to get a something, and as soon as we walked in, I noticed that the man had cough—I asked if he had used something, but he said “na where e pass come, e go pass go back. (It will stop the same way it started.)” Haha, Nigerians will never cease to make me laugh with their quick adjustments to everything and the believe that it will go back to normal without taking any action. Phew!😂 Well, my sister and I stayed a reasonable distance away from him until we were done. You know how expensive cough syrup is now?👀 I am saving up for enjoyment this December, not drugs. 

December is really here, the festive season is here—filled with family gatherings, parties, and lots of delicious food. But let’s not forget, this is also flu season. With so many hugs, handshakes, and "pass me the jellof rice and chicken" moments, germs have their own party plans! Don’t let the flu sneak into your celebrations. It’s so easy to get catarrh, cough, etc this season. 

Here are a few simple tips that I have been practicing to stay flu-free:  

-Wash your hands often—handwashing is your best defense.  

-Boost your immunity with fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water.  

-Avoid close contact with anyone feeling under the weather.  

-Don’t skip your flu shot—prevention starts now!  

And if you’ve been thinking, "I get strong body, flu no fit catch me,” (I’m strong, the flu can’t get me.” remember that even Superman dodges kryptonite! Protect yourself and those around you.
